During my years practicing family law, I watched too many families begin the divorce process wanting the same things: to be fair, protect their children, and move forward with dignity. Yet once they entered the traditional legal system, they often found themselves pulled into an adversarial process that increased conflict, cost, and emotional strain. That experience convinced me that for many couples, there is a better way.

I created Nicole Herzberg Mediation to help California couples navigate divorce through a structured, cooperative process that emphasizes communication, practical problem-solving, and informed decision-making. My goal is to help clients reach thoughtful, lasting agreements while avoiding unnecessary conflict whenever possible.

My commitment to child-centered conflict resolution began long before I opened this practice. During law school at UCLA, I served as a Pritzker Fellow and later as Minor's Counsel at the Children's Law Center, representing foster youth in dependency proceedings. That work gave me a deep appreciation for the lasting impact family conflict can have on children and reinforced the importance of creating stable, thoughtful solutions during times of transition. After graduating from UCLA School of Law in 2020, I practiced family law, representing clients in a wide variety of divorce matters. Later, I spent three years in Business Affairs at Disney, negotiating complex television and media agreements. Although the subject matter was different, the work strengthened my skills in negotiation, communication, and helping parties reach practical, mutually beneficial solutions—skills that now serve my mediation clients every day.

Today, I help couples understand their legal options, work through difficult decisions together, and reach fair agreements that allow them to move forward with confidence and as little unnecessary conflict as possible. While litigation is sometimes the right path, I believe many families are better served by beginning with cooperation rather than opposition.

I graduated from UCLA School of Law in 2020 and hold a B.S. in Business Management from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. I am licensed to practice law in California. When I'm not working, you'll usually find me spending time with my husband and our two young sons, tending to my garden, or tackling my latest home improvement project.
